NSB JAZZ FESTIVAL KICK-OFF PARTY
Help support local music scholarships

The kick-off party and silent auction will be held at Clancy’s Cantina on Thursday, September 24 from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Someone will be coming around to pick up auction items. The money raised will benefit future festivals along with music scholarships for the local high school. Chili & Chaps - First Time Event
Saturday, October 17 from 12-5pm 

This family-friendly Biketoberfest event will feature a Bike Show, Chili Cook-Off with additional contests and live entertainment. The plan is to have Flagler Avenue closed to car traffic and open to bike parking only during the event. This is pending approval from the city. More information on participants and an events schedule will be handed out as we get closer to the time of the event. October 31 from 8pm-2am

Four parties in one! Over $5,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded.

FLAMINGO FOLLIES - November 14 & 15 from 9-5pm
Great end of season sales opportunity!

Check in for the show starts at 5:30am on Saturday. Along with food and entertainment, we are looking to have a very full show. Please make sure that you have let the Parks & Rec office know if you are going to need the space in front of your store or business.  You can reach them at 424-2175 or you may also email Kimla by clicking HERE. Note to all businesses: Please be open promptly at 9am for all our guests. This is a great opportunity to shine during the slower season. Lets put our best foot forward!

FALL SIDEWALK SALE - November 21 from 9-5
Time to kick-off the new season and retire the old


The purpose of this sale is to support retail merchants in moving out spring/summer merchandise. This sale is held twice a year in March & November. This is also a way to drive traffic to the Avenue to kick-off the holiday season! There will be a gang page in the PennySaver (contact Sharon at 386-423-2300) and a general ad for the sale in the Observer. For more information contact Adele at 386-427-2256.


LIGHT UP FLAGLER - FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm
The season is quickly approaching so begin thinking now how you want to decorate your building and window. Prizes will be awarded. Light Up Flagler is an open house where the streets are closed to traffic allowing carolers from local schools and churches. This is a great chance to showcase to local shopers a preview of our Christmas and New Years goodies!

SANTA RUN & TOY DRIVE
To benefit the local chapter of Toys for Tots

Saturday, December 12 Noon-7pm
Run, walk or crawl to the toy box on the corner of Cooper and Flagler dressed up like Santa all for the kids! Last year we had over 200 Santas and over 500 toys. There will be contests held at Flagler Tavern, Om Bar & Chill Lounge, Peanuts, and Traders. More information on participants and an events schedule will be handed out as we get closer to the time of the event.

ART WALK ON FLAGLER - The Art Walk on Flagler will be held on the 4th Saturday of each month from 10-5 except for December which will be held on the 3rd Saturday.

The themes for each month are as follows:
9/26: Jazz Fest | 10/24: Masquerade | 11/28: Christmas Village (Please have your storefront decorated for the holiday season prior to this Art Walk - Remember Light Up Flagler is the following Friday)
12/19: Christmas Celebration

We would like to thank the hospitality group for their continued support! Please note: The surfboards that did not sell at the last Art Walk will be on display at the gazebo during the September Art Walk. They will be available for purchase via bidding. Please let your friends and customers know.

ASSOCIATION MEETING UPDATES

FYI...the three Kiosks have new maps and information. The Flagler Avenue brochure has been updated and should be out in 2 weeks. The poster signs on the water taxi are in place. The website is being updated as we speak and should be up in a week. We are dancing as fast as we can! Thank you for your patience.

 

NOTES FROM THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (CRA) - IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This is an opportunity to improve the exterior of your business. Take advantage of this funding opportunity.

The CRA offers a Commercial Property Improvement Grant Program to encourage investment in the properties within the CRA area.  The Program offers matching funds to business/property owners for exterior improvements and/or new construction designed to achieve noticeable visible improvements and to create a positive impact in the CRA area.
